Sarah Buckley Therapies has been at the forefront of SLT practice in response to Covid-19. Throughout the crisis, SBT has been continuing to offer Speech and Language Therapy to schools as usual, offering our partner schools a complete remote SALT service.
Support has been delivered at home in different ways depending on the individual needs of the child and family. This has included teletherapy, remote homework packs, regular parent training/liaison and access to resources. Our therapists have attended multidisciplinary meetings remotely to liaise with colleagues and continued to support the children we work with.
Our plan is to resume face to face service with clients in September and our practice manager Sarah Buckley, in her capacity as acting vice-chair of ASLTIP, has been instrumental in authoring the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists’ new guidance for therapists on using PPE to provide therapy to clients.
